About the game
The World of Ahoy
Ahoy is a multiplayer maritime experience set in the late eighteenth-century Caribbean, where every ship is drawn from period sources and the world draws directly from current research on this pivotal setting. Sail with friends or strangers and navigate trade, conflict, and survival.
Reef & Steer
Traditional seamanship is rewarding and based on generations of skill. You will learn to set and reef sails, take the helm in hand, and navigate across wind and waves relying upon your own real seamanship skills.
Setting Sail
Walk on deck, take the helm, haul on sheets, climb the rigging, and read the wind from the flags and the heel of the hull. Just the wind, the rigging, and a crew of real people learning to sail together. Sea Trials builds the foundation for all future updates to Ahoy.
Beat to Quarters
Action in Ahoy is won on skills earned in the game world. Health bars are replaced by dynamic and realistic visual or auditory cues and real rigging destruction. You will understand your position when your pumps cannot keep up, your rigging is shot through, or your crew have fallen to the enemy or the elements.
The Broader World
A persistent Caribbean for your character to live in. Trade between ports, found guilds and companies, walk the streets of capital cities, fight ashore and across seas. As you build your career, your reputations will follow you and NPCs will live and die on the same terms as you. Building this will take years, but we welcome you on the voyage.
The Fleet
Every one of Ahoy’s vessels is a work of art, designed from real vessels interpreted and given new life by our team of experts. The countless hours of work from stem to stern, cap to keel, and throughout their interiors gives you floating worlds to explore.
